Synonymy: Sphinx stellatarum Linnaeus, 1758
Taxonomic Notes: Macroglossum stellatarum (Linnaeus, 1758) is considered extralimital though there do appear to be records from North America. One record, from Umiak Island of the Eastern Aleutians, AK, is thought to be an unassisted stray (Pittaway & Kitching 2020).
