  • Taxonomic Notes: Paonias myops (Smith, 1797) includes as a synonyms Paonias hyatti Eitschberger, 2002 and Paonias oplerorum Eitschberger, 2002 and as a subspecies Paonias macrops (Gehlen, 1933) with Paonias emmeli Eitschberger, 2002 as a synonym of macrops in Kitching et al. (2018). P. macrops is returned to full species by St Laurent & Kitching (in Pohl & Nanz (eds.) 2023).
