Taxonomic Notes: Hemileuca nevadensis Stretch, 1872 includes as a synonym 7731.1 Hemileuca artemis by some authors. MPG treats H. artemis as a full species following Kitching et al. (2018) but for a more in depth discussion see Lemaire (2002) and Dupuis et al. (2018).
