Distribution: Coastal California (Mendocina southward) from near 0 - 3,000 ft. elev.
Holotype: Carnavon Way, Los Angeles, CA.
and Size:
October - early December. FWL ~ 17-23 mm.
Larva and
Host Plants:
Lonicera hispidula.
Field Marks:
See Ferris & Schmidt (2010) and Sala ([1971]).
Caution: as of 2023, BOLD identifications of "Synaxis mosesiani" based on DNA barcoded specimens appear to refer to Prochoerodes.
Genitalia: See Ferris & Schmidt (2010) and Sala ([1971]).
Similar Species:
  • Tetracis jubararia is reliably separated by genitalia only.

Taxonomic Notes: Tetracis mosesiani (Sala, [1971]), n. comb. in Ferris & Schmidt (2010), was formerly in the genus Synaxis.
