Distribution: At high elevations in western NV near Reno south to Ventura, CA and into Baja California, Mexico - Rindge, 1976.
Holotype: Bear Lake, CA - see Rindge, 1976: fig. 15.
Field Marks:
"... This speciesislarger than personaria.The uppersurface of the forewings tends tobesomewhatlesscontrastinglycoloredandthes.t.linetobe moreirregular in ursaria than inpersonaria...."; FWL: 18-24mm - Am. Mus. Novit., 2595: 14.
Genitalia: See Am. Mus. Novit., 2595: 1-27, figs. 19 (♂), 31 (♀).
