Distribution: Southern Texas. Lectotype: Presidio, Mexico. Similar Species: Pinned specimens of related species. (Hint: select View by Region on the related species page.) Synonymy: • Azelina astapa Druce, 1892 • Stenaspilates egregiata Pearsall, 1906 Taxonomic Notes: Pero astapa (Druce, 1892) is now recognized within the North American fauna north of Mexico (Hidalgo Co. and Starr Co., TX), 2013 Season Summary, News Lepid.
