Synonymy: sonomensis McDunnough 1941 (Cochisea) - MONA 1983: 6647 abrunnea McDunnough 1941 (Cochisea) Taxonomic Notes: Biston sonomensis (McDunnough, 1941), n. comb., was formerly in the genus Cochisea, a new synonym of Biston (Schmidt & McGuinness in Pohl & Nanz (eds.) 2023).
