Males have simple antennae.
Similar Species:
  • Psamatodes pallidata (Warren, 1897) males have bipectinate antennae; females are best separated by dissection.
  • Pinned specimens of related species. (Hint: select View by Region on the related species page.)
Synonymy:
  • trimaculata of authors; (not Warren, 1906) (Macaria)
  • atrimacularia (Barnes & McDunnough, 1913) (Macaria)
  • Taxonomic Notes: Psamatodes atrimacularia (Barnes & McDunnough, 1913) is returned to full species status from synonymy of Psamatodes pallidata (Warren, 1897) in Ferguson (2008).
