Synonymy: • Thera bitactata Walker, 1862 • Heterophleps atrosignata Walker, 1862 • Itame epigenata Barnes & McDunnough, 1917 • Halia packardaria Möschler, 1883 Taxonomic Notes: Macaria bitactata (Walker, 1862), formerly placed in the genus Itame in the 1983 Hodges Checklist and in the genus Speranza in Ferguson (2008), is returned to genus Macaria in Sihvonen & Skou (2015) following Scoble & Krüger (2002).
