Similar Species: Pinned specimens of related species. (Hint: select View by Region on the related species page.) Synonymy: intermedialis (Walker, 1862) (Pyralis) - MONA 1983: 5526 sodalis (Walker, 1869) (Pyralis) squamealis (Grote, 1873) (Pseudasopia) Taxonomic Notes: Hypsopygia intermedialis (Walker, 1862) was formerly in the genus Pseudasopia and assigned to the genus Herculia in Hodges et al. (1983) (Checklist). Pseudasopia and Herculia were synonymized with Hypsopygia in Leraut (2006).
