Field Marks:
5044 Pyrausta insignitalis has hindwing subterminal shade wider at the costa.
Similar Species:
  • Pinned specimens of related species. (Hint: select View by Region on the related species page.)
Synonymy:
  • exuvialis (Guenée, 1854) (Rhodaria)
      Type locality: Cayenne, French Guiana.
  • Taxonomic Notes: Hyalorista exuvialis (Guenée, 1854) is now recognized within the North American fauna north of Mexico; misidentified specimens collected from Florida since the 1980s, James Hayden (pers. comm., 6/12/2019).
