Type locality: California.
Similar Species:

Taxonomic Notes: Loxostege thallophilalis (Hulst, 1886), a justified emendation and correctly spelled in Hodges et al. (1983) (Checklist), was erroneously listed previously as Loxostege thrallophilalis following the original spelling on p. 154 in Trans. Amer. Ent. Soc. 13 which was corrected on p. 168 of the same work, Munroe, (1976), MONA Fascicle 13.2a: 72.
