Field Marks:
All images shown for this species on MPG should be considered tentative and may represent more than one species in Oligostigmoides. Munroe (1972) states, "The species is recorded as ranging from Panama to Texas, but the genus needs revision and it is possible that not all the material listed from this wide range is conspecific."

Taxonomic Notes: Oligostigmoides cryptalis (Druce, 1896) replaces 4766 Oligostigmoides cryptale (Hodges et al. (1983) (Checklist), unjustified emendation in Hampson (1897).
