Distribution: Suggested by Heppner as a species straying into, but not breeding in, Florida. Similar Species: Pinned specimens of related species. (Hint: select View by Region on the related species page.) Synonymy: testacea Packard, 1864 (Tortricidia) - MONA 1983: 4652 crypta Dyar, 1902 (Tortricidia) N. SYN. Taxonomic Notes: Tortricidia testacea Packard, 1864 includes as a synonym Tortricidia crypta Dyar, 1902, formerly a subspecies of testacea (Epstein & Fiesler in Pohl & Nanz (eds.) 2023).
