Taxonomic Notes: |
Dione incarnata (Riley, 1926), n. status, previously treated as a synonym of [4413] Agraulis vanillae (Linnaeus, 1758), is raised to full species status with nigrior Michener as a subspecies in Zhang et al. (2020). "True" vanillae is now treated as extralimital north of Mexico.
The name Agraulis is treated as a subgenus of Dione in Zhang et al. (2019). However, Núñez, et al. (2022) treats Agraulis as a full genus. |
