Distribution: Introduced from Asia, this species has spread throughout eastern US and Canada.
Type locality (longella): North Hindostan, India.
Type locality (pavlovskii): former USSR.
Genitalia: See Zool. J. Linn. Soc. 63(1): fig. 3c-d.
Similar Species: 0418 Monopis monachella lacks a dark stain within large white patch on costal margin of forewing.
Taxonomic Notes: Monopis longella (Walker, 1863), previously treated as a synonym of 0418 Monopis monachella (Hübner, 1796), includes as a synonym 0418.1 Monopis pavlovskii Zagulajev, 1955, Zool. J. Linn. Soc. 63(1): 6. This synonymy was overlooked until recently.
