Synonymy: ruatanensis Godman & Salvin, 1895 (Xenophanes)   Type locality: Honduras: Roatán Island. perplexus Bell, 1942 (Xenophanes) trixus Miller & Brown, 1983 (Xenophanes) missp. tryxus of authors; (not Stoll, in: Cramer, [1780]) (Papilio) misappl. Taxonomic Notes: Xenophanes ruatanensis Godman & Salvin, 1895 is raised from synonymy of Xenophanes tryxus (Stoll, 1780) to full species status in Zhang et al. (2022). "True" tryxus is extralimital north of Mexico.
