Synonymy: clarus of authors; (not Cramer, 1775) (Papilio) huachuca Dixon, 1955 (Epargyreus) ssp. a. huachuca Dixon, 1955 (Epargyreus)   Type locality: Cochise Co., AZ. ssp. b. profugus Austin, 1998 (Epargyreus)   Type locality: Clark Co., NV. Taxonomic Notes: Epargyreus huachuca Dixon, 1955, formerly a subspecies of Papilio clarus Cramer, 1775, is rasied to full species status with profugus Austin, 1998 as a subspecies in Zhang et al. (2020).
