Similar Species:
  • There are similar cryptic species from western NA with very different DNA barcodes at BOLD. DNA or dissection required.
  • Pinned specimens of related species. (Hint: select View by Region on the related species page.)

      Type locality: Great Britain.

      Type locality: Nova Scotia.

      Type locality: "New Jersey, Essex County Park".
  • Taxonomic Notes: Thyraylia nana (Haworth, 1811), formerly in the genus Cochylis, Jour. Lepid. Soc., 68(4):282, was number 3764 in Hodges et al. (1983) (Checklist).
