Distribution: Type locality (C. l. lambertianae): Oakland, OR; holotype label reads Ashland, OR. Type locality (C. l. ponderosana): Sugar Loaf, CO. Type locality (C. l. subretiniana): Monachee, Tulare Co., CA Similar Species: Choristoneura fumiferana complex: The Choristoneura fumiferana complex includes C. carnana, occidentalis [freemani], fumiferana, lambertiana, orae, pinus, retiniana.
