- Eana idahoensis Obraztsov, 1963 may be represented in part by BOLD:AAA4129, a BIN group divided by DNA barcode in two clusters, one primarily southern AB and BC and the other ranging across Canada to Alaska. (M. Sabourin, per. comm., 2024).

| Taxonomic Notes: |
Eana niveosana (Packard, 1866), rev. stat. (Gilligan & Brown in Pohl & Nanz (eds.) 2023), was previously listed as a subspecies of E. osseana (Scopoli, 1763) in Brown (2005:266). Gilligan et al. (2020:12) note that DNA barcode data supports returning niveosana to full species status as one of three cryptic species (two Nearctic and one Holarctic) near osseana which they treat as extralimital to North America (Palearctic). |
