Taxonomic Notes: Eana argentana (Clerck, 1759) is treated as two or more cryptic species with "true" E. argentana extralimital (Palearctic) in Gilligan et al. (2020). BOLD:AAA842, the BIN group at BOLD containing "true" argentana includes a separate branch representing a population from the Pacific Northwest which may best be treated as a subspecies of argentana and is here retained pending further study on the recommendation of Michael Sabourin (pers. comm., 2022).
