Similar Species:
  • Pinned specimens of related species. (Hint: select View by Region on the related species page.)
Synonymy: Proteopteryx columbia Kearfott, 1904
Proteopteryx albidorsana Kearfott, 1904
Tortrix crenana of authors not Hübner, [1817]
Proteopteryx mediostriana Kearfott, 1904
Taxonomic Notes: Epinotia columbia (Kearfott, 1904) is elevated from synonymy of Epinotia crenana [3324] (extralimital) in R. L. Brown's unpublished Master’s thesis with new status formalized in Brown (2005). This species is represented at BOLD by two BINs, BOLD:AAF0407, likely "true" crenana, and BOLD:AAE1754, likely an undescribed cryptic species (Gilligan et al. 2020); the latter possibly refers to albidorsana Kearfott, originally described as a variety of columbia  (M. Sabourin, in litt. 2023). Compare lectotypes of in references.
