Distribution: NB to MB south to NJ and KY - Gilligan et al. (2008). Larva and Host Plants: Lysimachia (yellow loosestrife)- Gilligan et al. (2008). Genitalia: See Heinrich (1926). Similar Species: 2864 Hedya cyanana reduced ochreous color on palpi, head and thorax but is only reliably separated by genitalia. Genitalic dissection is required for confirmation. Pinned specimens of related species. (Hint: select View by Region on the related species page.) Synonymy: approximana (Heinrich, 1919) (Olethreutes) - MONA 1983: 2748   Type locality: Rensselaer, NY.
