Distribution: Southern CA (introduced) - iNaturalist.
Type locality (emplecta Turner, 1942): Cairns, QLD, Australia.
Type locality (sexfasciella Sauber, 1902): Philippines.
Type locality (fulminea Meyrick, 1912, syn. of C. sexfasciella): "Ceylon, Trincomali".

Synonymy: Simaethis emplecta Turner, 1942
Taxonomic Notes: Anthophila emplecta (Turner, 1942), n. comb. (Bippus 2020), formerly in the genus Choreutis, is now recognized within the North American fauna north of Mexico with multiple reports from southern California and specimens analyzed by Dr. Marc Epstein at CDFA who notes that Choreutis sexfasciella (Sauber, 1902), which includes a a synonym fulminea Meyrick, 1912, cannot at present be separated and may be conspecific.
