Distribution: MI, WI, IA, IL, MO (Heppner 2023); AR, KY (BugGuide). Description/ Field Marks: Sole member of the silphiella species-group. See Heppner (2023), Lepid. Novae, 15(3-4): 128; fig. 4, 16-17, 20-21, F2, M2. Similar Species: Pinned specimens of related species. (Hint: select View by Region on the related species page.) Synonymy: silphiella (Grote, 1881) (Choreutes [sic])   Type locality: Pleasant Valley., Jo Daviess Co., IL.
