Distribution: Canada: BC. Similar Species: Pinned specimens of related species. (Hint: select View by Region on the related species page.) Synonymy: myopaeformis (Borkhausen, 1789) (Sphinx) armeniaca Gorbunov, 1991 (Synanthedon) cruentata (Mann, 1859) (Sesia) elegans (Lederer, 1861) (Sesia) graeca (Staudinger, 1870) (Sesia) luctuosa (Lederer, 1853) (Sesia) mutillaeformis (Laspeyres, 1801) (Sesia) typhiaeformis (Borkhausen, 1789) (Sphinx) zonata (Donovan, 1797) (Sphinx) Taxonomic Notes: Synanthedon myopaeformis (Borkhausen, 1789) is now recognized within the North American fauna north of Mexico, first discovered in British Columbia in the Cawston area in 2005, Pohl et al. (2015).
