  • Taxonomic Notes: Argyresthia pygmaeella ([Denis & Schiffermüller], 1775) is a poorly studied species. North American specimens may refer to 2447 Argyresthia chalcochrysa Meyrick, 1913. DNA barcode separates Nearctic specimens of pygmaeella, BIN BOLD:AAA6669, from Eurasian, BIN BOLD:ADD9964, by nearly 2%. One of the specimens in AAA6669 is identified as chalcochrysa.
