Distribution: Coastal or sandy areas, southeastern ME to Marion Co., FL west to south-central WI (Hodges 1999). Similar Species: Chionodes tarmes Hodges, 1999 has a hair pencil in the anal area of the hindwing absent in franclemonti. Pinned specimens of related species. (Hint: select View by Region on the related species page.) Synonymy: franclemonti Hodges, 1999 (Chionodes)   Type locality: Holotype: Lakehurst, Ocean Co., NJ.
