Phthorimaea plaesiosema of authors, not Turner, 1919
Trichotaphe tangolias of authors, not Gyen, 1913
Taxonomic Notes: Symmetrischema costaricanum Povolný, 1990 includes as synonyms S. tangolias of authors (not Gyen, 1913) and it's synonym S. plaesiosema of authors (not Turner, 1919). "True" tangolias Gyen, is extralimital north of Mexico. (JF Landry, in litt., 2023)
