Distribution: Florida, Kimball (1965:278) and possibly to Texas if images are correctly identified.
Similar Species:
  • 2216 Ymeldia janae Hodges, 1965 bears little resemblance to Besciva but images previously shown for that species would appear to refer Besciva.
  • Pinned specimens of related species. (Hint: select View by Region on the related species page.)
Taxonomic Notes: Besciva nr. longitudinella Busck, 1914 refers here to one or more species represented by the BIN groups BOLD:AAH4557, BOLD:AAM8599, BOLD:ABA4722, and BOLD:ABX3462. DNA barcode places those BINs near Ymeldia janae Hodges, 1965. Besciva n. sp. was listed in Kimball (1965:278) from Florida.
