Similar Species: Heliocheilus turbata (Walker, 1858) is a more dull brown and more mottled. Pinned specimens of related species. (Hint: select View by Region on the related species page.) Synonymy: lupatus (Grote, 1875) (Heliothis)   Type locality: Bastrop Co., TX. Taxonomic Notes: Heliocheilus lupatus (Grote, 1875) is elevated from synonymy of 11073 Heliocheilus turbata (Walker, 1858) in Hardwick (1996).
