Taxonomic: Notes Xestia dilucida (Morrison, 1875) was previously placed in the genus Anomogyna, a name treated as a synonym of Xestia subgenus Pachnobia in Lafontaine (1998); includes as a synonym Xestia youngii . Synonymy: dilucida (Morrison, 1875) (Agrotis) - MONA 1983: 10969; TL: Milford, NH. atoma (Smith, 1907) (Semiophora); TL: Lakehurst. NJ. janualis (Grote, 1878) (Agrotis); TL: Albany. NY. youngii (Smith, 1902) (Semiophora) - MONA 1983: [10970]; TL: Mer Bleue [Bog], near Ottawa, ON. Host Plants: Shropshire & Tallamy (2025) [accessed 6xii2025]: Host familiy: Ericaceae Myricaceae Pinaceae.  Host genera: Chamaedaphne Gaylussacia Larix Myrica Picea Vaccinium.
