Distribution: Southeastern Canada and northeastern US following distribution of Pinus strobus (White Pine). Larva and Host Plants: Pinus strobus Similar Species: Xestia dilucida (Morrison, 1875) Xestia elimata (Guenée, 1852) Xestia praevia Lafontaine, 1998 Pinned specimens of related species. (Hint: select View by Region on the related species page.) Synonymy: badicollis (Grote, 1873) (Ammoconia) - MONA 1983: 10968   Type locality: Albany, NY. Taxonomic Notes: Xestia badicollis (Grote, 1873), n. comb. (Lafontaine 1998), was formerly placed in the genus Anomogyna.
