Larva and Host Plants: Host familiy: Fabaceae Poaceae Solanaceae.  Host genera: Glycine Phaseolus Physalis Solanum[=Lycopersicon] Zea.  Notes: low plants & crops (Beadle & Leckie 2012); early larva feed on leaves & buds, older instars on fruiting pods (Lafontaine 2004); generalist on herbaceous vegetation (Crabo et al 2014).  (Shropshire & Douglas 2025) Similar Species: Pinned specimens of related species. Synonymy: albicosta (Smith, 1888) (Agrotis) - MONA 1983: 10878 manethusa (Druce, 1889) (Agrotis) Taxonomic Notes: Striacosta albicosta: Formerly placed in the genus Loxagrotis.
