Distribution: Type locality: Arizona.
Description/
Field Marks:
Ulolonche dilecta is best treated as a species group which includes several undescribed species. All identifications to species are tentative pending revision of this group.
Similar Species:
  • Ulolonche disticha (Morrison, 1875) tends to have a more rough or mottled look with more distinct am. and pm. pattern, not smooth as typical dilecta. Dissection required; DNA barcode is apparently not definitive.
  • Ulolonche fasciata Smith, [1888] has a smooth medial line. Dissection required; DNA barcode is apparently not definitive.
  • Cryptic, possibly undescribed species represented at BOLD by BINs BOLD:ABZ0725, BOLD:ABZ0723, and BOLD:ADG1993.
  • Pinned specimens of related species. (Hint: select View by Region on the related species page.)
Synonymy: Perigea dilecta Edwards, 1885
References
  • Barcode of Life (BOLD) - Caution: Some specimens shown may not be sequenced. DNA barcode provides evidence of relatedness not proof of identification.
