Taxonomic Notes: |
Leucania humidicola Walker, 1856: Todd in Hodges et al. (1983) referred to the species from Florida, recently described as Leucania elephas in Troubridge (2020), as humidicola. The name solita Walker, formerly a synonym of multilinea Walker in Hodges et al. (1983) and subsequently as a synonym of humidicola Guenée in Becker and Miller (2002), was treated as a valid species by Troubridge with humidicola treated as extralimital north of Mexico. Schmidt in Pohl & Nanz (eds.) (2023) returns solita to synonymy of humidicola. |
