- Lacinipolia bucketti is sympatric though out the range of illaudabilis (=strigicollis).
- Lacinipolia olivacea petita (Smith, 1901).
- Lacinipolia buscki (Barnes & Benjamin, 1927) is separated from illaudabilis (=strigicollis) by DNA barcode.

Lacinipolia strigicollis (Wallengren, 1860) includes as a synonym illaudabilis (Grote, 1875) and its former synonyms, alboguttata (Grote, 1876), dilatata (Smith, 1900), and restora (Smith, 1910) in Mustelin (2006), Zootaxa, 1278: 39.
The synonymies by Mustelin were based on the original description strigicollis. The holotype of strigicollis was believed to have been lost by McDunnough (1937:178) and subsequent authors including Mustelin (2006). However, in 2022 it was relocated in the Swedish Museum of Natural History (catalogue no. NHRS-TOBI0005212, see image below). It is not the same species as illaudabilis (C. Schmidt, pers. comm., 1 April 2024). It apparently applies to the olivacea group and seems to most resemble paratypes of L. bucketti Selman & Leuschner, 2001 and L. olivacea petita (Smith, 1901). It is possible that strigicollis may actually refer to bucketti. If so, "true" strigicollis might be represented at BOLD by BOLD:ACE9063 (the BIN group with paratypes of both petita and bucketti) and illaudabilis by BOLD:AAB7768 (the BIN with specimens currently identified as strigicollis). Pending revision, MPG will continue to display the images of DNA barcoded specimens from BOLD:AAB7768. |
