Larva and Host Plants: Host familiy: Caryophyllaceae.  Host genera: Cerastium Dianthus Silene.  Notes: seed capsules (Beadle & Leckie 2012); specialist on herbaceous plants in the family Caryophyllaceae (Crabo et al 2014).  (Shropshire & Douglas 2025) Similar Species: Pinned specimens of related species. (Hint: select View by Region on the related species page.) Synonymy: capsularis (Guenée, 1852) (Dianthoecia) - MONA 1983: 10317 propulsa (Walker, 1857) (Raphia) Taxonomic Notes: Hadena capsularis: Formerly placed in the genus Anepia.
