Ash (Fraxinus sp.).
Similar Species:
  • 10067.1 Sympistis forbesi larvae feed on feverwort (Triosteum sp.). Adults typically have less white scaling on thorax, costal margin, wing base, and orbicular and reniform spots but identification is unreliable.
  • Pinned specimens of related species. (Hint: select View by Region on the related species page.)
Synonymy: Phalaena chionanthi Smith, 1797
Taxonomic Notes: Sympistis chionanthi: Formerly placed in the genus Adita.
