Type locality (yuma): Yuma Co., AZ; Walters Station, CA; Gila Co., AZ; Kerrville, TX.
Similar Species:
  • Oxycnemis acuna Barnes, 1907 tends to be more contrastingly marked.
  • Leucocnemis variabilis Barnes & McDunnough, 1918.

Taxonomic Notes: Sympistis gracillinea (Grote, 1881), n. comb., was formerly in the genus Oxycnemis (Schmidt in Pohl & Nanz (eds.) 2023).
