Distribution: USA: Western CO and eastern NV to Southern AZ, NM and central TX.
Description/
Field Marks:
FWL: 18-22 mm; "first segment of middle tarsus 3 X as long as apical four segments..." (Lafontaine, 2004).
Similar Species:
  • Richia parentalis FWL: 16-19 mm; "First segment of middle tarsus slightly enlarged, 1.5-1.7 X as long as apical four segments" (Lafontaine 2004).

Synonymy:
  • chortalis (Harvey, 1875) (Agrotis) - MONA 1983: 10881
      Type locality: Texas.
  • aratrix (Harvey, 1875) (Agrotis)
      Type locality: Bosque Co., TX.
  • miniptica (Dyar, 1927) (Agrotis)
      Type locality: Contepec, Michoacan, Mexico.
