Similar Species: Pinned specimens of related species. (Hint: select View by Region on the related species page.) Taxonomic Notes: "Eriopyga" crista of authors; (not Walker, 1856) is an unidentified species (Arizona) provisionally placed in the genus Eriopyga in Lafontaine & Schmidt (2010), ZooKeys, 40:159. "True" crista is excluded as extralimital north of Mexico by Lafontaine & Schmidt (2010). It's previous inclusion was based on the synonym dissimilis (Barnes & McDunnough, 1910) which was described based on a mislabeled specimen.
