Distribution: Southern Canada and New England west to IL and IN and southward probably to New Jersey - Lafontaine & Schmidt (2015).
Similar Species:
  • Leucania linita has a more southernly distribution. The two are separated by genitalia and DNA barcode.
  • Pinned specimens of related species. (Hint: select View by Region on the related species page.)
Synonymy:
  • amygdalina (Harvey, 1878) (Heliophila)
      Type locality: Orono, ME.
  • Taxonomic Notes: Leucania amygdalina (Harvey, 1878), formerly treated as a synonym of 10440 Leucania linita in Hodges et al. (1983) (Checklist), is raised to full species status, Lafontaine & Schmidt, 2015: 142.
