Synonymy: • Catocala desdemona Edwards, 1881 • Catocala ixion Druce, 1890 • Catocala swetti Barnes & Benjamin, 1927 • Catocala umbra Barnes & Benjamin, 1927 • Catocala utahensis Cassino, 1918 Taxonomic Notes: Catocala desdemona Edwards, 1881, formerly treated as a subspecies of 8835 Catocala delilah Strecker, 1874, is returned to full species status and includes as synonyms Catocala ixion Druce, 1890 and Catocala delilah form utahensis Cassino, 1918 in Hawks (2010), ZooKeys, 39: 18.
