Distribution: New Mexico southward through western Texas to Big Bend NP - Miller et al. (2021).
Type locality: New Mexico.
Similar Species:

Synonymy: Heterocampa aonides Strecker, 1899
Taxonomic Notes: Astiptodonta aonides (Strecker, 1899), n. comb. and n. gen. in Miller et al. (2021), was formerly placed in the genus Litodonta.
