Distribution: New Mexico and western Texas. Similar Species: 7938 - Furcula nivea has forewing with area between the subterminal band and outer margin uniformly white, not peppered with black scales. Pinned specimens of related species. (Hint: select View by Region on the related species page.) Synonymy: meridionalis (Dyar, 1892) (Cerura)   Type locality: El Paso, TX. Taxonomic Notes: Furcula meridionalis (Dyrar, 1892), formerly a synonym of 7938 Furcula nivea (Neumögen, 1891), is elevated to full species status, MONA Fascicle 22.1A: 120.
