Distribution: At high elevations in western NV near Reno south to Ventura, CA and into Baja California, Mexico - Rindge, 1976.
Holotype: Bear Lake, CA - see Rindge, 1976: fig. 15.
Description/
Field Marks:
"... This species is larger than personaria. The upper surface of the forewings tends to be somewhat less contrastingly colored and the s. t. line to be more irregular in ursaria than in personaria...."; FWL: 18-24mm - Am. Mus. Novit., 2595: 14.
Genitalia: See Am. Mus. Novit., 2595: 1-27, figs. 19 (♂), 31 (♀).
