Distribution: Possible restricted to the southern Rockies with outliers representing misidentified decoloraria. Similar Species: 7384 Xanthorhoe decoloraria, aside from possibly range, cannot at present be distinguished from alticolata except by the long pectinations of the male antennae which are very short in for the latter. Pinned specimens of related species. (Hint: select View by Region on the related species page.) Synonymy: alticolata Barnes & McDunnough, 1916 (Xanthorhoe) - MONA 1983: 7385   Type locality: Silverton, CO.
