Larva and Host Plants: Host familiy: Berberidaceae.  Host genera: Berberis Mahonia.  Host extended: skeletonizer (Wagner 2005).  (Kimberley & Douglas 2025) Similar Species: Pinned specimens of related species. Synonymy: meadii (Packard, 1874) (Scotosia) - MONA 1983: 7290 ssp. a. meadii (Packard, 1874) (Scotosia)  badiaria (Edwards, 1885) (Triphosa)  optimata (Strecker, 1899) (Philereme) ssp. b. atlantica (Munroe, 1954) (Coryphista) ssp. c. fumosa (Comstock, 1967) (Coryphista) Taxonomic Notes: Rheumaptera meadii (Packard, 1874), n. comb., is the type species of Coryphista Hulst, 1896. a genus synonymized with Rheumaptera in Brehm et al. (2019).
